After the success of winning ‘Best in show’ prize at Handmade & Bound in London we are excited about the next issue which is going to be sold at BABE, Arnolfini, Bristol Artists Book Event and post this it will be stocked at the Arnolfini bookshop… We have the opportunity for you to be involved and this is a great chance to get your work out there!
Issue 4 is about the topic of Craft and its relevance within design. We are featuring some great names including:
Marshfield Screenprint, Otto
The Print Project
We would like to have six opening pages for each these, which will include an illustration from the following quotes:
Craft is refining things
Craft is twee stuff
Craft is tangibility
Craft is Passion
Craft is attention to detail
Craft is spending time with things
The illustrations we are asking for should be purely visual, without any inclusion of the quote. The publication will be risographed and the illustrations are in one colour. The publication is A5, this doesn’t necessarily mean that the illustration will be full bleed though.
To enter send your submission to email@example.com before Sunday 7th April.
Looking forward seeing what you come up with! Good luck!
5 days in Holland…
We had a well deserved break drinking coffee, visiting galleries and seeing old friends! In Amsterdam we came across this lovely Letterpress studio called Typique. Run by a very friendly man who has his own press in the basement, they sell postcards and calendars… all of which we wanted to buy!

The day has come, our stall is packed with Fond goodies, all three issues and some sets of postcards featuring the illustrations submitted for the newest issue. The fair is packed and bursting with creativity!
The printed pages have arrived! So now its time to bind 50 copies of the new Fond. Fond of internships has digitally printed pages and we have attached a screen printed concertina cover. A long day of folding and stapling but they are coming together and looking great :)
With Fond #3 being almost finished we are starting to get very excited about selling it at Handmade & Bound fair this coming weekend. If you will be in London on Sunday, make sure to pop by and get your hands on one of the brand new copies of Fond. See you there!
